Job Overview

As a Concrete Foreman, you will oversee and coordinate all on-site concrete operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead a team of workers, communicate with superintendents and project managers, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a crew of concrete workers, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and job specifications.  Ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce scheduling.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Oversee the preparation, pouring, finishing, and curing of concrete.  Set and align forms for floors, paving, foundations, and more.  Pour, level, and smooth concrete using hand and power tools.  Apply finishing techniques such as troweling, edging, and texturing.
  • Troubleshoot any on-site issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with superintendents, project managers, clients, and other trades.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment + tools for optimal performance and safety compliance.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust operations accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in concrete construction, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete placement, finishing techniques, formwork, and reinforcement.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to operate concrete-related tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver`s license and reliable transportation.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
  • Adherence to safety regulations and company policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in concrete finishing or heavy equipment operation.
  • Working knowledge of builders level, transit, and/or theodolite tools. 
  • Experience with skid loaders, excavators, telehandlers, or other construction equipment.
  • OSHA certification and other relevant safety training.
