Job Summary:

The Evening Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines
• Ensure food is served in an appealing and timely manner
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Assist with inventory management, including proper storage and rotation of food items
• Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate residents' dietary restrictions and preferences
• Monitor food temperatures and quality throughout meal preparation and service
• Assist with cleaning tasks, including dishwashing, equipment sanitization, and kitchen upkeep
• Participate in every-other-weekend shifts as part of the rotation

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred
• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting
• Knowledge of dietary needs and restrictions for senior populations is a plus
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain portion control standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to teamwork and excellent communication skills
