Job Summary

Central States Group, A Cogent Company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to take a hands-on role in our warehouse and shipping operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, and leadership experience to guide and support the warehouse team. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage daily shipping and receiving activities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the accurate receipt and inspection of products from vendors.
• Oversee and participate in the storage of products in designated locations, ensuring organization and accessibility.
• Lead the picking, packing, and shipping of products to customers with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
• Use power tools to ensure packaging for shipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards during loading and unloading processes.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and update systems using Excel or other warehouse management tools.
• Assist in generating reports on shipping/receiving activities and inventory levels.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite to communicate with internal teams and support warehouse operations.
• Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in logistics or related fields is a plus.
• Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or logistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and support a team effectively.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
