Job Title: Accounting Manager - Bookkeeper

We're looking for an experienced and detail-driven Accounting Manager - Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team and help oversee the financial operations that support our growing fleet and logistics operations. The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role in managing daily accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, P&L reports, and other financial data.
• Manage cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and oversee fuel card and expense tracking.
• Work with operations to ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost allocation (e.g., fuel, maintenance, driver settlements).
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including IFTA, fuel tax reporting, and DOT-related financial documentation.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes; and tax filings.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and financial policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts in collaboration with senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Prior experience in the trucking, logistics, or transportation industry preferred but not required.
• Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Excel, or similar TMS/ERP tools).
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific financial processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
