Sodexo is seeking a Catering Manager at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. This role will oversee catering activities for a medium to large-sized location/unit and complex events, requiring hands-on involvement in catering solutions. The Catering Manager will assist the Catering Director with numerous high-profile events and must possess strong client interaction skills.

What You'll Do

  1. Train front-of-house staff and develop steps of service. Enforce performance and service standards to provide exceptional customer service, ensure team productivity, and improve client satisfaction scores.
  2. Organize events, ensure on-time setup, and maintain consistently superior service while adhering to policies outlined in the employee handbook and during training.
  3. Collaborate with other department managers to ensure successful event execution. Be actively involved in events to gather real-time feedback.
  4. Manage daily operational procedures to ensure adequate staffing and product levels.
  5. Conduct regular event walk-throughs to evaluate and meet service quality and customer satisfaction standards.
  6. Conduct pre-shift meetings to ensure organizational efficiency and ongoing safety training.

What You Bring

  • Experience facilitating communication between sales, culinary, and front-of-house teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, including last-minute needs, efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to adhere to timekeeping and labor cost control procedures by maintaining staff payroll and schedules in Kronos.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing catering event orders and weekly sheets for accuracy.
  • Positive, practical solutions to client queries, while adhering to catering policies and procedures and providing staff support.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience: 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience: 1 year in food or culinary services, including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
