The Data Warehouse Manager is responsible for the growth and development of members of the Data Warehouse team, including developers, BA/QA, and support staff. Responsibilities include conducting regular one-on-one meetings to maintain communication, provide feedback, and assist in goal setting, as well as overseeing training processes for new employees.
The manager oversees department's shared mailboxes and work by directing others on task creation, work distribution, and communication with users. They manage the creation, scheduling, maintenance, and quality of Data Warehouse processes. The role involves collaborating with business partners to transition processes and reports, providing technical solutions for data needs, and working with end-users to resolve issues. Additionally, the manager designs, develops, and documents processes to support the Data Warehouse as needed.

This position is based with National Indemnity Company in Omaha, NE, with a hybrid work schedule requiring 50% in-office presence. Sponsorship for employment visa status is not available for this position.

What will you do?

  1. Supervise Data Warehouse team members, providing guidance on technical and non-technical topics, and collaborating with other managers to assess performance and growth needs.
  2. Communicate with external vendors, regulatory representatives, internal product owners, subject matter experts, underwriters, managers, and programmers to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  3. Manage personnel activities, including work procedures, instructions, problem analysis, and employee support.
  4. Oversee data feeds and reports, analyze reporting processes, and identify opportunities for enhancements and improvements.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouses, Data Marts, etc.
  • Understanding of finance, business, statistics, and insurance principles
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Experience with data manipulation software
  • Relevant software, database, or project management certifications or designations
  • Knowledge of insurance coverages, rating schemes, and products
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as Azure (DevOps, Data Studio, etc.)
