Gain valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education.

As a part-time early childhood teacher intern at Gallup's Child Development Center (CDC), you will spend your afternoons teaching Gallup associates' young children in a fun learning environment. In our play-based classrooms, indoor water room, indoor gyms and outdoor playground, you will create engaging activities that cultivate a love for learning and social development for each child you encounter.

As an intern at Gallup, you will have the opportunity to:

  • explore and develop your interest in early childhood education in a professional learning environment
  • work with a team of experienced teachers to support program philosophy
  • observe behaviors, plan activities and facilitate learning for young children
  • interview and collaborate with world-class teachers about milestone development, classroom management, parent communication and developmentally appropriate practices
  • fulfill practicum hours under the guidance of a cooperating teacher
  • access professional learning books and curriculum materials
  • learn about strengths spotting in young children and foster their development in areas where they uniquely shine

What you need:
  • Must be currently (or soon to be) enrolled in or recently graduated from an early childhood education program, elementary education program, Child Development Associate (CDA) program, or related associate or bachelor's degree program
  • Commitment to work at least six months; this internship has the potential to extend beyond six months
  • Availability to work a minimum of three days a week within the hours of 3-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, required. Schedule is flexible, but must work at least nine hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 15 hours per week.
  • A passion for working with children ages 8 weeks to 5 years required
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds required
  • Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship
